If we decide to make subfolders, I will move this thread to one we might make for Danny. I am posting this here, because dawnd1 from pointofprayer.com attempted to start a prayer thread for Danny in the General Discussions folder at AI, and her thread was deleted. I suggested to her that she try e-mailing Steve, the mod, and ask for approval to put one in his particular folder, whenever they make one. I guess they don't have them there yet. They will probably have them when (not "if," ) he reaches the top 12. But in the mean time, this is an e-mail she sent me concerning praying for Danny. Of course, the prayer thread part is not valid right now, as it got deleted. I will wait for a reply from her, as to whether she would be allowed a thread for him. They had one for Jason Castro in his folder, that I recall. I thought that, since many of us here like him, we can pray for him here for the time being.

I got an e-mail from Dawn where she said that she posted in a thread for him that she is encouraging people to pray for him. I will post the thread in the AI8 folder. Colts may end up putting the thread in a subfolder for him if she sees it necessary.

Dawn e-mailed me back to say that Steve, the AI mod, replied to her, saying that the prayer threads are not allowed because they are too disruptive and get deleted. But she has passed the word on in that one thread over there for him. And we can pray for him here, too. Below is an article about Danny that Dawn posted at pointofprayer.com . In the next post, I will post a prayer for him that she posted.

According to a contact at the church, Gokey was the praise and worship leader at both Faith Builders International Ministry locations, in Beloit, WI for the morning service and then he headed to Milwaukee for the afternoon service, as well as doing mid-week services. While Faith Builders is Gokey's home church, he travels back and forth to Nashville where he's been recording and working on the foundation that he set up in his wife Sophia's name, Sophia's Heart Foundation.
The foundation's goal is to unite people, organizations, and companies to "reach out and touch the hearts of children from ages 0 through 18. The uniting factor among these children will be the need for restoration in various areas of their lives." Part of the foundation's long term vision is to establish an orphanage in the Milwaukee area.
That we get to see Gokey sing is great. That he gets to use his exposure on the show to promote foundation and, in the long run, help children is even better. That we hopefully get to hear about his faith in future shows is the icing on the cake.
Exploiting the celebrity goes both ways, and in this case, that's a good thing.
